I must have gotten the update on your site but never looked actually went to look at the site. I am extremely saddened by the loss of Dave. I enjoyed hearing the stories of him diving for rocks up at the lake and I was hoping at one point to meet him. I am so glad you were fortunate to have such a good dog for so many years. I am sure it was hard one everyone to loose someone who has been a part of your life for so many "good" years! But I am glad that he was able to exit this world peacefully with little pain! And is now joined with his pal and all of his own tennis balls. Ben, you are a very good writer..your story really touched me. I think you should write a novel at some point in your life!
