We’re working on the treehouse this weekend. Here are a couple of update photos:
The cedar siding is pretty much done. We are working on trim items for the exterior. We are ready to place the windows and seal them up. The interior is insulated, so we will probably close in the walls next.
The next major phase is adding the “upper deck.” That will be another 4 feet above the main deck and be situated right above the small lower deck where you see the stairs. I guess we probably ought to build railings too.
“BOB” and the other kids had better appreciate this tree house.

Oh my! I will not show my kids this picture as I would be in trouble for not having something like that! You guys are not even parents yet and yet you are GREAT parents! I am so excited for you both and can tell by your parental energy you are both going to be great parents!
I am sorry to hear about Dave earlier this month……have you ever seen or heard of the movie…”Where The Red Fern Grows….you should rent the movie..it is a good one and I think you would appreciate it…the movie is based on a book and is set here in Oklahoma.
I am jealous of that tree house! That is awesome! Thanks for the updates!
Ooooh COOL!
I hope there will be a little mailbox for our treEmail.
Go Robin, GO! On this website, puns will always earn you props.
Troy, thanks for the confidence that Katie and I will be great parents. Please understand that the treehouse is definitely a FAMILY project. My dad was its chief proponent and designer. He, along with my brothers and I have shared the work in getting it built.
Thanks for your kind words on Dave. We miss him every day. Best dog that ever was.
Very nice. When you have completed it and start missing working on it, you can come build one for my kids. Bring extra trees, as none of ours are that close together or big enough to sustain on their own. And you’ll have to move us into a new house, as our HOA doesn’t allow them. Let me know when you want to begin the project.
Richard (no not that Richard, the other Richard, the one who let you use our kitchen soooooo many years ago)
