A likely conversation between Dad and Baby (as it plays out in my mind):
A rare moment of Lucy asleep on Dad’s chest |
Dad: | Lucy, why are you crying? | |
| Baby: | I’m not sure. Perhaps I am hungry? | ||
| Dad: | No way. You just drank 17 gallons of breast milk and another 6 gallons of formula. Even though you puked 10 gallons of it, the remaining 13 gallons should keep you full for another 11 or 12 minutes. | ||
| Baby: | Oh. Well then perhaps I am tired and need a nap. | ||
| Dad: | Then go to sleep. | ||
| Baby: | I’m clearly too upset to go to sleep. Perhaps I have a dirty diaper. | ||
| Dad: | I just changed your diaper 37 seconds ago. There is no way that… | ||
| Baby: | ( pfffftt ) | ||
| Dad: | Okay then… let’s change your diaper. | ||
| Baby: | Okay, but so you know, I will continue to cry and flail throughout the entire process. | ||
| Dad: | There you are… a fresh clean diaper. Perhaps this one will get at least 5 minu… | ||
| Baby: | ( pffftt ) | ||
| Dad: | Okay, a new diaper… again… perhaps now you will stop crying. No? Why are you still crying? | ||
| Baby: | I want Mommy. | ||
| Dad: | Me too. |

I do not know how you guys have the time to update this but love the fact that you do! Each post is so much fun and so enjoyable! You are both wonderful to keep us all posted on the new changes in your lives!! I love the giggles I get from the new posts as well!
Thanks for my early morning giggle!
Love the dialogue.
I love this picture! What a happy and proud Daddy you are! The dialogue is hilarious! So true because all newborns do is eat, sleep, and cry. And of course the lovely presents they leave in the diapers!
