]]> http://www.coatefamily.com/2012/05/11/test-rollover/feed 2 Busy Birthday Bash http://www.coatefamily.com/2012/05/07/busy-birthday-bash http://www.coatefamily.com/2012/05/07/busy-birthday-bash#comments Tue, 08 May 2012 04:28:02 +0000 Katie http://www.coatefamily.com/?p=2888 Lucy’s 3rd Birthday was a huge success!  This past Saturday was filled with lots of things to do.  We started the morning with a Tumbling Show at Lucy’s school.  Once a week, Coach Robbie holds a tumbling class for all the little tykes (Lucy being one of them).  The show that was held this past Saturday was to showcase all the tricks that our kiddos have learned this year.  Basically, watch your kid do a roll or walk on a balance beam, and clap enthusiastically like you’ve never clapped before!  It was a lot of fun.  Granma and Grampa were able to join us on that excursion.

           

Next, Ben and I bravely held a birthday party at Monkey Joe’s Bounce House Extravaganza for all of Lucy’s school friends.  Again….a huge success.  Everything went very smoothly, and no-one got hurt – a big plus!

             

Then…a big dinner with the family for more cake and some presents.  Lucy had a blast tearing into all her gifts.  She had been patiently waiting all day…eyeballing the growing mound of beautiful bags and boxes.  Thanks to everyone for the generous gifts!  She’s been playing non-stop for the past several days with all of her new toys.

         

Hopefully, this will be a birthday for her to remember for a long time.  I know I sure enjoyed it!

I can’t believe my not-so-little-girl is already 3….wow.

This morning I was singing and being goofy with Cora. After a particularly obnoxious high note, Lucy announced, “Daddy, it hurts my ears when you talk like that.” What more polite way can you imagine a 2 (almost 3) year-old to say “Shut Up, Dad!”?
