We decided to spend our Labor Day weekend cleaning our floors. Not that the floors were dirty, but this was the weekend we had set aside to begin potty training. There have been a few successes, which were accompanied by a few celebratory cupcakes. Mostly, however, it has been a few days of cleaning up puddles and changing underpants.
Lucy is in good spirits about the whole process, despite the rough start. We are mostly grateful that we have only solid floors downstairs so the accidents are pretty quick and easy to clean up.
Tagged LucyLucy has learned that the best way to make a boo boo feel better is to have Mommy kiss it. Tonight, she had to live with disappointment as her most noteworthy injuries were biting her tongue and falling on her bottom. Imagine Katie trying to explain twice why Momma is not going to kiss that ouchie.
Tagged Katie, LucyWe are trying our best to encourage good manners with Lucy. When she asks for something, we wait for (or suggest) the “please” in the request. So this evening, when she simply said to me “Milk,” I asked for her to clarify her request. She replied with “Diet Coke, no ice.” We both busted our guts laughing, as she had repeated her dad’s drink order from dinner a couple of hours earlier. Now she is reciting the phrase continuously. It is just further evidence that she is always listening, absorbing, and WILL repeat what we say.
