The weekend after Thanksgiving, we put up our Christmas Lights. We changed out our regular incandescent lights for the new warm glow LEDs. They look the same, but they use a lot less power. Therefore, we can put up a LOT more lights (which we did!).

The first picture is this year’s lights. The second one is last year’s. This year we added the ridgeline, the bushes, the trees, and also lit up the fence and the back of the roof (insert mad scientist laugh here). Kate said that next year I should also light up the chimney. I immediately agreed and started planning my trip back to Home Depot for more lights. She stopped me and emphasized NEXT YEAR.

Fine.

This weekend, Katie and I were able to get some of the Christmas lights up on our house. We still haven’t put the garlands and bows on our fence as we just got the fence replaced and are waiting for the fence company to put on the final touches.

So here’s the place all lit up!

I hope our neighbors realize the risks Katie and I went to in hanging the lights. I’m not speaking of the risk of falling off of a ladder or off of the roof. No, according to the package insert, our GE Brand Holiday lights contain materials that are known to the state of California to cause cancer. At first I was concerned, but then remembered that we live in Texas. So we’re safe.
