Taking After Her Dad

Lucy loves to sneak into my office and play with the computers. She likes to push buttons and move the mouse. It’s actually not so much “pushing buttons” as it is banging her open palm on the keyboard repeatedly. She does the same thing with her grandmothers’ pianos.

Her favorite thing associated with the computer is playing Baby Smash. This is a fantastic program that makes letters and shapes appear with every key press (or smash) and mouse move. It has lots of fun colors, sound effects and animations that keep her laughing.

She has also taken to grabbing my wireless mouse. It is so common for her to toddle into my office and swipe my mouse that I now keep an extra one on the desk so I can keep working.

Could Lucy grow up to be as big of a nerd as her Daddy?

We bump chins!

Lucy has started giving us little hugs and kisses as well, but her most common sign of affection is to touch someone (or something) with her chin. The dogs and the cat get a lot of this.

Miss Dialing

If anyone gets an odd call or text from me, be aware that Lucy has taken to stealing and playing with my cell phone.

It’s one thing for her to grab the phone from the coffee table and start pushing buttons. It is entirely another thing when she swipes it from the cargo pocket of my pants while I’m sitting down. The last time she got my phone, Kate’s phone rang when Lucy figured out how to redial. She’s only 15 months! Dang.

Reading in the Bathroom

I only wish I had a camera handy, but I don’t normally carry one when going to change Lucy’s diaper. Normally she just lays there while we change her. Often she “politely” requests a pacifier for the ordeal. This time, she picked up a book first and proceeded to read it (albeit upside down) while I handled her dirty business down south. It was one of the funniest things I’ve seen her do.
